Case hardened
This has the same appearance as power floated concrete but differs due to the surface modification that has taken place to give the concrete greater hardness and chemical resistance. This type of concrete cannot be prepared by acid etch.
Chalking
The formation of a friable, powdery layer on the surface of the film of a coating material caused by disintegration of the resin during weathering.
Checking
Fine cracks which do not penetrate the topcoat
Cissing
Occurs with poor adhesion when an old previously painted surface hasn't been rubbed down or is so hard that it is impervious to the new coat.
Cobwebbing
The formation of fine strings when spraying with certain coating types
Curtaining, Running or Sagging
Usually due to over application or failure to brush product out sufficiently.
