Saponification
Occurs when solvent based paints are affected by alkalis.

Scabbling
Is a means of mechanically roughening the surface of concrete to promote adhesion of subsequent paint coats

Shelf Life
This is the time during which the paint retains its properties in intact unopened tins. Storage should be at temperatures of 10-30ºC

Spalled
The deterioration of concrete where the internal structure of concrete loses its ability to hold together.

Sweep blasting
Sweep blasting is a light manual blast cleaning to remove from coated steel surfaces any light rust and surface contamination
