DECORATION WITH ADDED PROTECTION

For projects that require much more than just decoration, Johnstone’s Performance Coatings range includes a selection of products that have been specifically developed for use in the most challenging of environments.

Performance Hygiene Coatings

Johnstone’s Performance Coatings range features a number of speciality products that have been created for use in the healthcare, education, hospitality and food industry sectors or wherever improved hygiene is required.

Leading the way is innovative anti-bacterial coating Microbarr, which is proven to dramatically assist in the fight against infection caused by harmful bacteria. Developed using renowned silver ion technology and available in both acrylic matt and acrylic eggshell finishes, Microbarr protects against over 150 strains of bacteria whilst providing a tough, washable surface.

For projects where mould, damp and mildew are a problem, Johnstone’s range of hygiene coatings also includes specialist products designed specifically to deal with this problem such as Johnstone’s Sterilisation Wash, Anti-Mould Acrylic and Stop Mould, a water-based matt emulsion paint formatted to resist mould growth for areas prone to damp conditions

Performance Flame Retardant Coatings

When paints and coatings need to protect as well as decorate, Johnstones range of Flame Retardant products has been specifically formulated and tested to meet today's exacting building regulation standards. The comprehensive range includesa chioce of Flame Retardant Vinyl Matt and Flame Reatrdant Acrylic Eggshell finishes along with a trim product of Johnstone's Flame Retardant Gloss system giving a Class 0 fire protection rating.

But how do these specialists products work? Normal paint allows heat to pass through its surface directly into the substrate beneath. The substrate will heat up very quickly and a fire generally follows soon after. Flame Retardant Coatings will maintain the fire rating of the substrate to which they are applied. These products work by releasing a non-combustible gas that serves to dilute the oxygen supply to the fire, thereby reducing its growth providing that vital extra time for evacuation.

Performance Anti-Graffiti Coatings

For a quick and easy solution to the growing problem of graffiti on buildings, Johnstone’s Performance Coatings range now includes a three-step anti-graffiti system of protective surface coatings and specialist cleaning products.

Providing effective resistance against all types of paint, aerosols, marker pens and even felt tip pens, Johnstone’s anti-graffiti system comprises an Adhesion Promoting Primer, Anti Graffiti Finish & Activator, Anti Graffiti Glaze & Clear Activator and Graffiti Remover. Suitable for use on a variety of projects, the anti-graffiti system provides a cost-effective solution to vandalism and, once applied, can be easily and repeatedly cleaned as necessary. From the very first application, the three-step system provides effective protection against unsightly graffiti in just seven days.

SUBSTRATE SOLUTIONS

When no two substrates are the same, Johnstone’s Performance Coatings range provides a variety of solutions that help to cover all bases.

Performance Floor Coatings

It’s not just the walls of a building that can benefit from being painted. The use of paint on floors is increasingly important, not least in commercial situations where it can provide a safer working environment. Paint can be used to identify pedestrian routes, vehicle access points in factories or warehouses and mark out hazards as a means of reducing the risk of accidents. Coloured floors can also help meet various health and safety regulations and the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Providing a high-quality solution for a range of different flooring materials, Johnstone’s extensive range of coatings has been developed with both safety and style in mind. From Quick Dry Floor Paint and Flortred, which is now available in a choice of over 15,000 colours via Johnstone’s innovative tinting system, to Low Slip Concrete Floor Paint and Road Marking Paint, Johnstone’s range of Performance Coatings ensures that flooring needn’t be boring.

Performance Steel & Cladding Coatings

Recognising how important effective maintenance is to helping prolong the life of buildings, machines and other installations, Johnstone’s range of high performance coatings also offers a simple, cost-effective system for the protection and decoration of steel and cladding substrates. With the five and ten year warranties now available, Johnstone’s Specification Managers are also on hand to provide specification advice and site visits.

Performances to remember…
