JOHNSTONE’S EXPANDS WOODWORKS PROTECTION RANGE
Leading trade paint brand Johnstone’s has continued to expand its range of Woodworks products for professional painters and decorators with the launch of its brand new Oils range. The three new oils in the range, Raw Linseed, Boiled Linseed, Teak Oil and a Knotting Solution, have been added to satisfy professionals seeking a more traditional method of wood treatment for interior and exterior woodworks.
The oils will help to rejuvenate wood’s natural beauty, and guard against cracking to provide a natural looking finish. Raw Linseed Oil provides the perfect solution for protecting wood that requires constant protection from repeated wear. Deliberately slow drying so the oil has time to fully soak in to the woods fibres, Raw Linseed Oil offers a healthy and strengthened finish which will offer a natural film-free finish, enhancing the natural beauty of the wood. With excellent coverage, Raw Linseed Oil is also a product ideal for treating beams and perfect for sprucing up greyed interior woodwork, as well as more specialist applications, ensuring the wood’s natural brightness shines through.
Whether it’s to protect new, bare timber or to restore tired-looking interior or exterior wood back to its former glory, Boiled Linseed Oil offers a solution suitable for a wider range of woodworks with the added bonus of a quicker drying time. This makes it ideal for wooden flooring and work surfaces, or those projects in need of a quick turn around for the user’s convenience. The oil works to brighten dull and tired timber while rejuvenating the fibres in the wood, making it a strong solution for wooden floors, work surfaces and furniture exposed to high usage.
Johnstone’s Teak Oil boasts significant protection to new, bare or tired and old exterior woodwork needing that extra bit of defence against the elements. Not only does the natural properties of Teak Oil guard against wear and tear, it also adds a low sheen creating a pristine and refreshed finish. Ideal for exterior use, Teak Oil excels when protecting garden furniture and timber against weathering with a traditional and professional looking finish.
Johnstone’s Knotting Solution prevents sap bleeds from resinous knots in wood staining or discolouring surface coatings and is touch dry in 10 minutes. Suitable to paint over in 30 minutes, it is ideal for both interior and exterior use and especially effective over resinous timber with bleeding knots. Exposed wood such as doors, frames, windows, and furniture benefit from its strong resistant coating which offers lasting protection from sap to safeguard topcoat finishes.
