Quinn Glass, is one of the largest glass plants and state of the art bottling facilities in the UK. Seddon’s were set the task of painting the exterior steel cladding of the building, with strict instructions from the client that the building should blend with the surrounding landscape at both upper and lower elevations.

Johnstone’s Colour Advisory Department were brought in to provide a colour scheme solution to fit the clients brief. A clever scheme using over 25 different shades of greens was used and a full product specification was provided by Johnstone’s.

The project took up to 16 decorators, 16 weeks to complete. The building is 35 metres high, 280 metres in length, and in total 23,000 square metres of steel and cladding was repainted. In total 4,000 litres of Johnstone’s Performance Coatings Steel Cladding products were applied. All of the work was carried out by operatives working from cradles, with the variation in colours and shades marked out by the use of traditional lining techniques.

The completed work is aesthetically stunning and can be seen from a considerable distance away. This is a great example of how a plain steel cladded buildings’s appearance can be changed significantly. The building now looks fantastic and is a credit to the team at Seddon Property Services for all their hard work and patience on this unit.
