Stuart Yates Decor - The Gables, Chatsworth

Situated on the edge of the Chatsworth Estate, The Gables is an Edwardian stone family home that was built in 1908.

The project involved the entire internal redecoration of the building. A lot of patience and attention to detail was required on this refurbishment to carefully prepare and restore many original features back to their original splendour. These features included beams, architraves, coving and fire surrounds. Using traditional decorating techniques on sometimes difficult surfaces, along with a historic colour palette the house has been given a new lease of life. The clever mix of traditional and modern style has created a contemporary house, still keeping the character and feel and of the Edwardian period.

Taking five months for the decorating elements to be completed, the project was predominantly completed by Stuart Yates himself, with two additional decorators assisting when required. Over 250 litres of Johnstone’s products were used including, Jonmat, Covaplus, Flat Matt and Eggshell.

The redecoration is of the highest quality completed to an exceptional finish. Stuart Yates Decor should be proud of their efforts on this refurbishment and how they have transformed their client’s property into a beautiful home.
