Johnstone's Leads The Way With Refreshed Colour Guide

Johnstone’s continues to set the pace in commercial colour solutions after it recently re-launched its colour advisory guide for specifiers and architects.

Providing information on all design aspects from the meaning of colour to creating colour schemes to aid partially sighted people, the guide titled Specifying Colour & Colour Schemes is an ideal resource for specifiers.

To help with the creation of balanced colour schemes, the guide explains how different colours combine well to create tonal, contrasting or harmonious schemes, while an introduction to the Johnstone’s Colour Consultancy indicates how they can propose bespoke colour solutions to meet any commercial requirement.

An increasingly important issue when creating colour schemes for commercial projects or public buildings is the consideration of how easily and safely partially sighted people can navigate around the area.  This issue is addressed in the brochure by stating a number of simple rules that should be followed to ensure an effective colour scheme is created. It also includes information on how the use of Light Reflective Values can ensure that a sufficient contrast of colour can be achieved on critical surfaces, such as floors and walls that are adjacent to one another.

The guide also includes two pullout posters illustrating 22 suggested colour schemes that can be used in a variety of commercial situations and four colour schemes for partially sighted people.

For more help and advice on colour, the Johnstone’s team of Colour Consultants is on hand to recommend colours and propose tailored colour schemes to meet your project requirements. Call 01924 354103 to speak with one of our Colour Consultants.
