Leading paint brand Johnstone’s has strengthened its specification team with the key appointment of Martin Barrs to the position of National Specification Manager.
Martin will manage the current national team of Specification Development Managers, who are responsible for building relationships with and supporting architects, designers, main contractors and other specifiers in their formulation of paint solutions for new build and refurbishment projects.
Johnstone’s dedication to specification is demonstrated through its wide variety of services, such as the provision of expert technical advice and a commitment to providing continued professional development as members of the RIBA CPD Providers Network.
The specification team is also able to provide tailored colour advice and schemes through the Johnstone’s Colour Consultancy, recommending combinations from the palette of over 15,000 colours via its market leading tinting system.
Commenting on his appointment, Martin said: “The Johnstone’s brand is widely specified across a spectrum of markets including education, healthcare, housing, local authority, retail, leisure and hospitality.
“Trusted relationships have been built over many years with specifiers who value Johnstone’s expertise when considering the impact and performance paint can have on a project. I see my team as almost an extension to the specifier’s business. Our approach is consultative and we work closely to provide solutions, however demanding a project may be. More and more specifiers are recognising the value to their business of teaming up with Johnstone’s.”
In addition to its website, Johnstone’s has recently launched a new interactive CD-Rom for specifiers working away from the office, on site or simply in an area where internet access is poor. Featuring an interactive product selector tool and case study information from the company’s varied project portfolio, the CD–Rom also includes full details of Johnstone’s technical support teams and regional network of specification development managers.
