PAINTING A MORE SUSTAINABLE PICTURE

The new report provides specifiers and users of our products with vital information on PPG’s recent business performance and product innovation as well as details of its various supply-chain, social, environmental and community based initiatives.

Looking at the key area of product development and quality, the report explains our commitment to new technologies, focussing on such recent innovations as Johnstone’s Self-Cleaning Masonry, using the latest nanotechnology, Johnstone’s state of the art tinting system and Fat Hog, a new premier range of Forest Stewardship Council sourced brushes, rollers and painting accessories.

The report also explains more about the PPG’s School Participation Scheme. Through school visits and on-site educational programmes, PPG runs three schemes a year with schools located near to our Birstall site. Providing insight into modern manufacturing techniques as well as other conservation and environmental issues, the day-long schedules includes promotion of the environment and paint technology as well as environmentally responsible behaviour.

The report gives an overview of Johnstone’s sponsorship of the League One and Two Cup Tournament and how local communities can get involved in activities surrounding the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
