Johnstones Trade Paint

Johnstone’s Trade is continuing to invest in its offering to specifiers by announcing that products from its comprehensive range are now available as Building Information Modelling (BIM) objects.

The presence of Johnstone’s products on the National BIM Library means that specifiers can effortlessly add their chosen paints and woodcare products directly to their BIM models as BIM objects.

BIM allows architects, designers and contractors to incorporate detailed product information digitally into 3D CAD modelling for building projects and will be mandatory on all public sector projects from 2016.

BIM pulls together multiple data streams to allow the design team to generate not only a comprehensive virtual 3D model of a building, but coordinate all data aspects of the project and ultimately provide an as built model for facilities management.

Helen Tiplady, specification marketing manager from Johnstone’s Trade, said: “Investment in new technology and developing best practice has been integral to the success of Johnstone’s Trade in recent years, which is why we have embraced the BIM journey.

“By ensuring our comprehensive product range is available on the National BIM Library, we are ensuring that specifiers have access to the very best paint products on the market for use on their projects.”
