The children’s ward at Watford General Hospital is being transformed into a vibrant space by Leigh Warman, a London-based mural artist, with the help of Johnstone’s Trade products.
The first phase of the project, the ward’s reception area, was completed and officially opened in December. Leigh arranged for Premier League star and Watford local, Heurelho Gomes, to attend the opening and present signed footballs to each of the children on the ward – just in time for Christmas.
Commenting on the project, Leigh says: “It is great that the team at Watford General have asked me to help brighten the walls of the ward, to create a colourful and vibrant environment for the children. I’d like to say a big thank you to Johnstone’s Trade for donating the products that have helped make the work happen so far, and also to Darren Andrew Homes for its help throughout.”
The second phase of the project will see Leigh create an equally exciting and colourful environment across the rest of the ward, with work due for completion in early 2018.
Johnstone’s Trade is donating a range of products across the duration of the project, including Johnstone’s Trade Water Based Varnish and sundries. Johnstone’s Trade Covaplus Vinyl Matt is also being used on the walls to provide a durable finish, making it ideal for the high traffic area.
