The positive impact of colour

At Johnstone's Trade, we believe colour can have a positive impact on how spaces are experienced, helping create welcoming homes and vibrant communities that support well-being.

Colour holds possibilities — and purpose. In every community, colour has the ability to transform the way people think and feel about their surroundings and experiences. In the hands of committed volunteers, PPG paint can make life-changing differences. That’s why thousands of PPG volunteers are protecting and beautifying special places in their lives through our global Colorful Communities program.

Thanks to the energy and passion of PPG's global employees, we have positively impacted more than 10.3 million people and completed 635 projects in over 50 countries since the program launched in 2015.

In 2025, we extended the Colorful Communities program for another 10 years to celebrate a decade of beautifying and revitalizing communities.

Empowering people

At Johnstone's Trade, our people, customers and communities are important to us.

Being hospitable, National Painters' Day, social projects, colleague days, bringing color into society, we leave no opportunity unused to make every day a success together with our relations.

Painter of the Year Awards

We celebrate excellence, dedication and the craft that brings projects to life. Each submission to the Painter of the Year Awards is carefully considered, recognising not only the finished result, but the skill, expertise and attention to detail behind it.

Every entry is assessed on the quality of workmanship and craftsmanship, alongside a deep understanding of the materials used. We also recognise the complexity of each contract and the professionalism shown in managing projects from start to finish. Our expert judging panel reviews every application thoroughly, with shortlisted projects receiving in-person visits from our technical specialists to see the work up close.

From these outstanding category winners, the celebration continues on the night, where attendees come together to select one exceptional project to be named the Supreme Winner—an achievement that truly reflects the very best of our industry.

Safer indoor climates

The well-being and safety of our people, customers and end users is increasingly important.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) has made its way into the health and well-being conversation and is now a key criterion in industry-led green building standards such as LEED, BREEAM or WELL. To achieve these all-important accreditations, professionals must demonstrate the ways in which their design has taken indoor air quality into consideration. Which is why our approach focuses on water-based, low-emission solutions that limit impact on indoor air quality.

By offering products certified regarding VOC content or emissions, Johnstone's Trade supports you in creating more welcoming spaces for people working or living inside while maintaining your project’s efficiency and long-term standards.
